I bought this ax to replace my previous hunting ax which was made out of very soft steel and bent when I tried to cut antler. So the first thing I did when I got this new ax was try to cut antler and it held up with zero damage as expected. Everything about it from the steel to the handle to the sheath is top quality. I am confident this will hold up to years of relentless abuse. Worth the money!
Started out with the $12.00 one it did alright depending on the type of steel but with better steel you want better results. Here you go

Is the best axe i've ever swung or used or got results with for splitting wood. I've been flowing water for a while. And amazed, how this one goes through some of the harder stuff. High quality craftsmanship, and I couldn't be happier.
I had a missed swing that cracked my handle. I sent it into Hoffman for a refit and it came back looking brand new. Even better than new really. Great service and communication from Melody and the team at Hoffman.

Picked up a Hoffman Blacksmithing Mountains To Sea Axe with the Wenge wood handle and it’s honestly a beautiful piece. The Wenge handle has an incredible look to it and really makes the axe stand out as more of a display and collection piece than a user. There’s a real sense of pride knowing it’s American made and hand forged by skilled craftsmen who clearly care about the quality and tradition behind their work.
Fantastic heat treat, theoctagonalhandle is amazing. The bit and poll were at odd angles, it is just cosmetic.Theaxeis a beast to use

Beautiful belt holster that pairs perfectly with my Mountains to the Sea Hatchet The belt holster was so beautifully crafted that I almost didn't want to use it, but I got over that really quickly and took along with me while hiking over the weekend. What a great option to carry your hatchets.

Absolutely love my farm axe with phantom bevels, on the 32” handle. Fit and finish are the best I’ve had on any axe and I have over 30 of them. The 32” handle is perfect for me. Wouldn’t want it any longer, but don’t think I could get the whip with a shorter handle (maybe the 28”, I don’t know).A great design and perfectly executed.
