This one of a kind hatchet is built by hand with the forging, the finish grind, the leather strike guard, blade sheath and handle fitment all of incredible quality. I have quickly become a fan of Liam Hoffmans work and am building a heirloom collection of his axes.
Much experience and thought went into this design. Add to that a passion for construction quality that goes above and beyond the competition. Next time I find myself in TN - I'd like to stop in and shake your hand.

I've been both using and collecting axes for over half a century, and I've never experienced anything like this Mountaineer. Meticulously crafted and well balanced., it "comes to hand" like magic. The octagonal handle has to be experienced to be appreciated. I've never had a axe sheath anywhere close to being made this well.
The feeling of happiness I got when I first held it in my hands was far beyond my imagination. I haven't used it yet, but I have no doubt it will become a wonderful companion. I will treasure the creator's thoughts in my heart. Thank you.

This is such a beautiful tool. The craftsmanship is incredible, weight balance very well established, handle is made perfect for good grip but a smooth flow while splitting pieces that require a swing.

Excellent weight to power ratio because of the shape of the 5 lb axe head and the shape of the handle. The axe slices through Ash and Oak easily and pops right out if embedded in the wood on the first swing. I will definitely be chopping with this axe for a long time.

My second Hoffman axe. First was a wood bullet. Workmanship is amazing, it performs, and is holding up well splitting large hardwood rounds. This purchase was the farm axe. Bought it based on my first purchase, and am just as impressed. The grain and fit on both handles is incredible.
The Farm Axe (28”), cuts extremely well, and is equally adept at bucking trunks and limbs and splitting rounds of even 24” diameter. The craftsmanship and quality of the head and “curvy” handle are uniformly high, and it is a pleasure to use.
The quality and attention to detail is just incredible. I am thrilled to support this wonderful family business.
