Our mini double bit, born in the linville gorge

The Hawksbill earned it's name from it's maiden voyage in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area in Western NC. This compact double bladed axe has a head weight of 1.5lbs and is hung on a 13" octagonal handle. It's best used while hiking, camping, and home use around the yard. This axe is not only more balanced than a single bladed axe due to it’s symmetry, but it also allows you to use one blade for closer ground and grub work where the edge may get dinged up, while the other side remains sharp for typical axe use.

Hi Guys,
Haven't got into deep woods yet, been volunteering for emergency duty in my area. Expect to be whacking away at some red and white oak and some soft wood too. Be in touch!

Great resource for a great price

I really enjoyed this book. It provides a lot of Info about the history of the axe, types and axe maintenance. Definitely not the end all be all, but certainly a worthwhile read. There's a picture of a neat tabletop leg vice, no directions for building it but that's all part of the fun.

Hoffman had a really good price for the 1/2 oz size, so I decided to buy a larger amount. I had a question about shipping, I emailed them and they answered; good communication is important to me. I got exactly what I ordered and in a timely manner. I’m quite happy with them and would order from Hoffman again!

I’ve been looking at these axes for a few years now. Never thought I’d get to own one.
Not disappointed!

A pleasure to wear!

I have washed and worn my shirt several times now and find it to be one of my go to tee's for fit and comfort. I like the designed and color I picked as well.

Good Book

Really liked this book. Well written advice.

3LB Camp Axe
Andrew Comer
Beautifully crafted

This axe is about perfect. I needed a full sized axe, but didn't want to wait on a Farm Axe. So, I went ahead with a 32" 3 lb camp axe. I can't imagine it being any better. It's beautiful, well balanced and sharp. Most people would probably hang it on the wall. This one will be a user!
