Our 2.5 pound Fireman Hatchet is most commonly used as a truck axe or in crash sites and built for versatility as a one, or two-handed axe. The hardened spike penetrates through hard construction and vehicle materials with minimal wear. Each axe head is adequately secured with a 5/16" roll-pin through the side of the axe as a failsafe. You have the option of either a 19" or 24" handle in an oval or octagonal cross-section. The octagonal is recommended since these axes are primarily used with gloves. Additionally, you can add phantom bevels to the top and bottom of the blade to aid in easier penetration and easier removal from sheet metal and other construction materials. Firefighters have tested these axes to ensure that our axes can dependably perform in life-saving situations.
