Fillet Sword

This sword is forged out of W-1 steel to a blade length of approximately 15 inches. The distal tapered spine is rounded to provide ergonomics as well as increased strength for chopping by creating more surface area. Leading to the tip of the blade is a sharpened wedge so it will cut on a back stroke. The hidden tang construction starts with an antique wrought iron guard which has been etched to show the unique grain hidden in the material. Leading down the handle the guard is heirloom fitted to a beautiful piece of Chilean Laurel burl, a dense and tight grained wood with extreme character. The handle is sculpted very heavily to contour a hand and lock it in place. This piece does not include sheath.
