As with all Hoffman products that are made in house, quality is our number one objective and that is what we had in mind when we set out to design and produce a durable and functional work apron. A comfortable apron is paramount to ensure that it doesn’t wear you down after long days on your feet, so we chose to use 3.5 ounce premium full grain buttery soft Italian waxed and oiled leather for the body. To reinforce the design we have chosen 4-5 ounce leather for the pocket and front yoke to prevent sagging with a double layer of leather for our straps. For more comfort we have lined all straps and areas of the apron which touch your body with an additional layer of soft suede. The pitfall of many aprons is either a lack of support in the corners and areas where needed, or a lack of comfort from thick and stiff leather. Our apron is constructed by glueing, stitching with heavy 4 ply nylon thread and riveting with solid brass double cap rivets. The straps and belt are fully adjustable to fit your height and size using solid brass D-rings and Conway buckles. Our pocket design is centered symmetrically on the front to evenly distribute weight as it sits on your body. Fun fact, the 51.5 degree angle at which this centerpiece is cut imitates the same angle that the ancient Egyptians used on the Great Pyramid of Giza for a balanced appearance. Our center pocket will hold your phone and small notebook while the side pockets will hold writing instruments, tape measures, calipers, scribes and similar tools. We have proudly stamped our emblem deeply into the leather which is displayed both on the front pocket and the back cross hairs. This apron has been tested thoroughly and while our design is soft and comfortable, it is proven to be tough enough to withstand the rigorous environment of blacksmithing and will certainly work just as well in any other type of workshop.
